For this production, I had the opportunity to co-design the show with Gianna-Marie Edwards. We divided up the characters and then we built each others designs. Peter, the director, wanted the costume to span different decades and so each character is based off of a different time in history.

This design was created by collaging many pictures together using Photoshop. The character is a water spirit and the images used were picked to enhance those characteristics.
This is my design research for the character Naja.
This design was created by collaging many photos together using Photoshop. This character is held captive and dressed as a bird by her captor.
This is my design research for the Bird character in Anon(ymous).
This is my design for Cunegonde from Candide. I used Procreate and reference images to craft my design. The top of her dress has a lace overlay which I took from fabric I swatched.
This design is for the Old Lady from Candide. For my designs, I decided that the older characters would be in more traditional Rococo styles while the younger characters would be in a more modernized version of Rococo fashion. This design was created on Procreate using different reference photos.
This design was created using Procreate for Maximilian from Candide. His outfit is mostly drawn but the jacket and tie are also part collaged fabric from swatches,.
This is my design for Walter from A Raisin in the Sun. This was done using watercolors and the face was added in on Procreate.
This is my design for Mama from A Raisin in the Sun. This was done using watercolors and the face and the pattern on the dress were added in on Procreate.

This corset was constructed using a Simplicity pattern. It is a Rococo-style corset crafted with Brocade, Coutil, boning, and bias tape. The bias tape was almost completely handstitched.
Pattern matching was a very important step in the process to make sure that the pattern met up correctly as it was two separate pieces.
Costume Fitting photos from The Coming World for Dora. The director wanted the characters to be dressed like it was in the early 2000s. This was a student-run production so everything was pulled from stock.
For an Independent Study, I was tasked with recreating a dress. I chose the dress on the left but wanted to change the color. Through Procreate, I sketched the dress onto my own body and tested out different colors to figure out what would look best. I decided to do a contrasting brown lace instead of the gold.
This dress was made completely from scratch. The pattern was created by taking a reference photo and playing around with the best way to construct the dress. I used my own measurements and padded out a mannequin to make the process easier. The fabric is a brown velvet with a lace overlay on the bodice. The dress has a mermaid silhouette and a six piece flounce makes up the bottom of the skirt.
I was asked to recreate this outfit for someone to wear to a Taylor Swift Concert. I found a similar color sequin fabric and a pattern that seemed similar to this dress and used it as a base.
This is the finished dress on a mannequin before I added the part around the midsection.
This is the finished product. This dress was very challenging as it is a fully lined sequin dress with boning in the bodice.
